Still Painting

I did some more last night, in acrylics this time. I've never painted with acrylics before (apart from in a splodging it on kind of way or solid blocks of colour) so (although I know these are no masterpieces) I'm quite pleased with how well they've turned out. Again I would welcome any advice or constructive criticism as I would like to improve.

Love the top picture Sian. Really lovely piece of work.
constructive criticism, the only thing i can see, is the reflection of the mountains. I'm no bloomin expert, but, when i paint a reflection, i use the same colour paint as in the mountains, but water it down, so it becomes more transluscent, just like water is in real life.
But like i said, you are definitely progressing with each painting. Keep it up girl, you are definitely getting there.

Well done Sian, i love the vibarancy of the top one, and the quiet stillness of the other one.

great works . Have to agree with MArgaret on number 1, reflections should be a couple of tones lower at least than the object.

The lower painting shows a good sense of perspective and a very lively application of paint to achieve the feeling of fast flowing water - I don't feel the stillness referred to above at all

Thanks for your comments everyone. I've never done any "proper" painting with acrylics before so am a complete novice. I totally agree about the reflection. I've taken all comments on board and will hopefully be able to improve! I'm hoping to get some more done very soon.
