Acrylic Paint Backgrounds

These are some ATCs I've done with acrylic paint backgrounds. I was aiming for a slightly grungy look for these even though I've used pastel colours. They're for this month's swap on UK Stampers,
on the theme of Friends.
I started with an acrylic paint background and then added two layers of stamping with the printed images over the top.
Then I added a bit of ink around the edges and a few embellishments.

  1. Love these atc's Sian, and great backgrounds - feel like I would have liked to see more of them. Question... did you just use the acrylic paint like a wet-into-wet watercolour? Or were you dabbing/stamping with acrylic paint?

  2. This is a beautiful set - love the paint colours you've used - really great with the black and white (ish) images. 'Best of Friends' is my favourite!

  7. In answer to John's question, the paints are dabbed on. I layered them and on some bits I dabbed them through sequin waste and mesh using a sponge, then I stamped over the top in ink. (Sorry folks, I know I usually explain things a bit better in my posts, but I've been a lazy blogger of late!)
