Cardz 4 Galz - Fairy Nice

This week's challenge theme at Cardz 4 Galz is "fairy nice".

For this challenge I am sharing a card I made for my mum for Mother's Day.  I  used a lovely image by Moonflower Digistamps called Ashlee Faerie Ball Dress.  She can be found in the Moonflower Shop

I printed her and coloured her with Polychromos pencils, and added a bit of glitter on the wings.  I cut her out and layered her onto some patterned papers.  I added a ribbon bow and some flowers that I created using Britannia Crysanthemum Dies and coloured with Promakers.

I hope you can join us this week at Cardz 4 Galz.

Cardz 4 Guyz: In the Country

This week's challenge at Cardz 4 Guys is "in the country".  I thought that rather than have a countryside scene on my card I would go for something that you would find in the country.

The  mushrooms are die cut using some fantastic dies from Marianne Designs that I picked up from a craft show I visited recently.  I die cut them and then coloured then with Polychromos pencils.  I die cut a circle and inked it using distress inks, then stuck the mushrooms onto it and layered it onto a slightly larger circle.

I layered some patterned papers onto the card for my background, and stamped the sentiment onto some more patterned paper. I embellished the card using die cut leaves in different shades of green.  I hope you can join us this week at Cardz 4 Guyz.

Moonflower Digistamps: Lilly Mermaid

Good morning!  Today I am sharing a card made using the new Lilly Mermaid image by Moonflower Digistamps.  She is available in the Moonflower shop here:  https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/518148775/lilly-mermaid?ref=shop_home_active_1.  I had so much fun colouring her!

I coloured Lilly using Polychromos pencils and cur her so that her tail was hangin over the edge of the rectangle.  I mounted her on turquoise pearly card and layered her onto patterned papers, and added some sea themed die cuts, with some pearls to finish off.

I hope you like her!

Cardz 4 Guyz: Trees

Good morning!  The challenge theme today at Cardz 4 Guyz is trees.  I used a lovely stamp by Inkylicious for my card.

I stamped the tree in black Memento ink and made the background using masking and various distress inks, then added some stars using a silver pen.  I layered my tree onto black card and patterned papers and added the sentiment "hold on tight to your dreams", which is from a Tim Holtz Idea-ology pad.

I hope you can join us this week at Cardz 4 Guyz.

Mak My Monday - White Embossing

Today's challenge at Make My Monday is white embossing.

I made this card by stamping the flowers on the card in Versamark then embossing with white embossing powder.  Then I painted the flowers using pearlescent watercolour paint in various shades of blue, purple and pink.  I added some Nuvo Jewel Drops and Crystal Drops to the centres of the flowers.

I added a die cut lace border, and the sentiment which is from a Tim Holtz Idea-ology pad.  I chose black because I wanted the sentiment to stand out.

I hope you can join us this week at Make My  Monday!

Cardz 4 Galz: Pretty in Pink

Good morning.  Today's challenge at Cardz 4 Galz is a very girly one:  pretty in pink.  Those of you who have known me for a while will know that I used to avoid pink like the plague, but lately I seem to be using it quite a lot in my cards.  Maybe I have a girly side after all!

Anyway, this is my DT card.  I decided to use some of my recent craft show acquisitions - these lovely flower stamps.  I coloured the back of some vellum pink usign Promarkers an then stamped the flowers onto the front using Versamark.  I then embossed the flowers using white embossing powder and cut them out.  I shaped them using an embossing tool.

I embossed the bottom layer of my card using an embossing folder, then added some layers of patterned paper and the sentiment, which is stamped and embossed using pink embossing powder.  .  I then stuck the flowers onto the card and added gems in their centres.

I hope you can join us for this week's Cardz 4 Galz challenge.

Cardz 4 Guyz: Numbers

Hello everyone!  Today's challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz is numbers, so I thought I'd base my card today on the sentiment "age is only a number".  (You can see that I've also added an age and that there are numbers one of my background papers).

The main focal point of my card is this great image by Dr Digi, which I think goes perfectly with the sentiment.  I've coloured him with Polychromos pencils.

I hope you can join the fun today at Cardz 4 Guyz.

I coloured her using Polychromos Pencils and added some glitter to the unicorn's horn and mane.  Then I layered here onto a die cut circle which I hand stitched around the edges.  For the background I used die cuts and patterned papers.

Cards 4 Guyz: CAS

Good morning!  Today I am sharing my DT card for Cardz 4 Guyz.  This week's theme is CAS (clean and simple).  This little guy is a Woodware Clear Magic stamp, which I coloured with Polychromos pencils.

I added a bit of shadow to make him look like he's standing up on the bottom of the card, and added a stamped sentiment at the top right.  Then I layered him onto matching blue card.

CAS is not my usual style, but I've decided I like to do one every once in a while!

I hope you can join the challenge at this week's Cardz 4 Guyz.

Make My Monday: Colours of the Rainbow

Good morning.  Today's challenge at Make My Monday is colours of the rainbow.  The challenge is to choose three of the colours of the rainbow and make a card using those colours.  I decided to go with citrus colours - orange, yellow and green.

I thought I'd have a change form making square cards today, so made this circular one using die cuts.  I layered yellow card and green and orange papers, then added some die cut flowers which I shaped and inked to given them texture.

I hope you can join today's challenge at Make My Monday.

Cardz 4 Galz: Name Your Powder (Embossing)

This week's challenge at Cardz 4 Galz is to make a card using embossing powder.

To make this card I started by layering some pink and white card, then adeded some patterned paper.  I stamped the dragonfly image into white card and then inked the background using different pink toned Distress Inks.

I then added some gold accents by going over parts of the stamped image with a Quickie glue pen and sprinklign embossing powder on it, then melting it wiht a heat tool.

I coloured some gold toned vellum on the back with Promarkers in shades of pink and green and then stamped some flowers on it in Versamark ink on both  the  coloured and uncoloured bits, then embossed them using embossing powder in shades of pink and gold.

I shaped the flowers to give them some dimension and then stuck them onto the card.  I added some coordinating gems to the centres.

Finally I stamped the sentiment onto a die cut banner and inked around the edges with Distress Ink.

I used Wow!  enbossing powders in Pearl Gold Sparkle and Rose Mist for this card.

I look foward to seeing everyone's creations at this week's Cardz 4 Galz challenge!
