Moonflower Digistamps: Lilly Skating

Good morning and Merry Christmas!  Today I am sharing a card made using the new release by Moonflower Digistamps, Lilly Ice Skating.  You can find her in the Moonflower shop here:  https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/576583919/lilly-ice-skating?ref=shop_home_active_1

I printed the image on Kraft card and coloured her with Polychromos pencils.  I layered her onto red card and patterned papers from the Jingle All The Way pad by First Edition, and embellished with a baker's twine bow and some wooden snowflakes.

You can see soem great work from the other members of the Moonflower design team on the Moonflower blog or the Moonflower Facebook group.

Cardz 4 Guyz: Last Minute Chtistmas

Today's theme at Cardz 4 Guyz is Last Minute Christmas.  I have to say I have been very last minute with my DT card for this one!

I made my card using a digi stamp by Bugaboo, which I coloured with Polychromos pencils.  I layered my coloured image onto patterned papers and red and teal pearlescent card.  I added some ribbon and some die cut snowflakes, then as a final touch I glittered the snowflakes using Stickles glitter glue.

I hope you can join us this week at Cardz 4 Guyz

Cardz 4 Galz: Snowmen

Good morning.  We have more snowmen this week, this time at Cardz 4 Galz.  As this is Cardz 4 Galz, I wanted to make a more feminine snowman card this time, so I chose shades of pink and purple.

The main image on my card is a digi stamp by Conie Fong.  I coloured it with Polychromos pencils and added the snowflakes in white gel pen.  I absolutely love the robins in this image.  They're so cute!

I made the background with patterned papers and purple card.  The papers are some Papermania ones that I have left over from my early card making days.  I've been making cards since I was pregnant with my youngest son, so about 13 years.  I would estimate these papers to be about 10 or 11 years old!  Anyway, they were perfect for this card.

I embellished my card with a bow that I made from purple spotty ribbon (it's not as dark as it looks in the photo, but I ran out of natural light), and some die cut snowflakes.  I glittered the snowflakes with glitter glue.

I hope you can join us this week at Cardz 4 Galz.

Cards 4 Guys: Snowmen

Good morning.  This week's challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz is Snowmen.  I love making snowman cards, so I really enjoyed this.

The lovely stamp I've used is by Woodward and I coloured my snowman with Polychromos pencils.  It does not show up well, but I added a bit of glitter glue to the snowflakes and "25th".  I layered my stamped and coloured image onto red card and patterned papers.  These papers were one of three lovely sets that I got from The Works for £1 each - an absolute bargain as they're nice quality too.

Finally I added some die cut snowflakes and glittered those as well, and a "Merry Christmas" sentiment.

I hope you can join us this week at Cardz 4 Guyz.

Make My Monday: Happy Christmas

Good morning.  Well, that time is getting nearer, so this week's challenge at Make My Monday is Happy Christmas (or Happy Holidays for anyone who doesn't celebrate Christmas).

I made my card using a set of stamps by Woodware, which I stamped and coloured using Polychromos pencils.  I cut out the stamped images and mounted them onto patterned paper and red card, then created a debossed background using an embossing folder.

I hope you can join us this week at Make My Monday.

Cardz 4 Galz: Cupcakes

Good morning!  It's time for a new challenge at Cardz 4 Galz, and today's challenge is Cupcakes.  I have a few cupcake related bits and pieces in my craft stash, but when I saw this brilliant Cake Monster digi stamp from Bloobel Stamps I knew I had to have him!  The challenge of course was to create something feminine using a monster image (this is Cardz 4 Galz after all), so I chose to use the girliest colours I could think of - pink and purple.

I coloured my image with Polychromos pencils , cut around him and mounted him on an embossed and die cut circle with a die cut frame.  I layered him onto patterned and embossed papers and purple card.  I embellished my card with paper straws and some paper flowers, and added a printed sentiment.

I hope you can join us this week at Cardz 4 Galz.

Cardz 4 Guyz: Reindeer

Good morning!  Today's challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz is Reindeer.

I made this card using a die cut scene and added a bit of Stickles glitter glue to make it look sparkly and snowy.  I matted my die cut onto blue pearlescent card and white card.  Then I layered it onto patterned paper and a snwoflake embossed trip.  I added some wooden snowflakes which I coloured with a white paint pen, and a die cut snowflake garland.

The effect is, I think, very wintry!

I hope you can join us this week at Cardz 4 Guyz.

Make My Monday: Snow Fun

Good morning.  Today it's my turn to choose the challenge at Make My Monday, and I have chosen the theme of Snow Fun.

Some of you may recognise this image.  It's by Whimsy Stamps and is the image for Kit and Clowder's monthly pencils class for October.  After lurking in the Facebook group for a while I finally decided to have a go at one of the classes, and would very much recommend it to anyone.  I learnt so much just from one class, and I'm really pleased with how my colouring turned out.

I coloured my image with Polychromos pencils.  I wanted the image to be the main focus, so kept the rest of the card fairly simple, mounting the image onto white card which I embossed with snowflakes using an embossing folder, and just adding a sentiment and the die cut snowflake wreath.

I hope you can join in the fun this week at Make My Monday.

Moonflower Digistamps: Gina Christmas Elf

Good morning.  Today I am sharing a card I made using the beautiful Gina Christmas Elf by Moonflower Digistamps.  I hope you like her.

I coloured her with Polychromos pencils and layered her onto  embossed and die cut ovals, red card and patterned papers.  I raised her up on foam pads to make her stand out.

I wanted the image to be the main focus on this card, so just added the holly leaves at the corners.

You can see some lovely work form the other Moonflower DT members on the Moonflower blog.

Cardz 4 Galz: Thank you/Thanksgiving

This week's challenge at Cardz 4 Galz is thank you for thanksgiving.

I decided to use this lovely Woodware stamp for my card, and I went with a CAS card to make the most of the stamp.  (I have other plans for this stamp as well, so watch this space!)

I coloured the stamped image with Polychromos pencils, added the Thank You sentiment and mounted it on purple card.

I hope you can join us this week at Cardz 4 Galz.

Cardz 4 Guyz: Oh! Christmas Tree

Today's challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz is Oh Christmas Tree.  this gave me the chance to use one of my favourite Lili of the Valley stamps featuring James Bear.  He's such a cute character.

I stamped him in grey ink then coloured him with Polychromos pencils.  I die cut him using a circle die then added a scalloped circle behind.

I layered my image onto patterned papers and embellished it with some wooden snowflakes.  The papers are from The Works.  I've found 3 different Christmas pads so far and I think they're all lovely, and really nice quality too.

I hope you can join us this week at Cardz 4 Guyz.

Make My Monday: Anything but a Card

Good morning.  Today's challenge at Make My Monday is to make anything but a card.  This was a good opportunity for me, as I'd had a wooden house hanging around that I bought a few months ago, just waiting to be made into something.

The first thing I did was to paint the house inside and out.  I used acrylic paints for this in shades of blue, white and platinum.

Then I measured each compartment.  The writing in pencil in the middle of each section is the measurement in millimetres.

used some acrylic texturising medium in the bottom of some of the sections to make them look more snowy.  There is a close up picture of this below.  I also used some texturising medium on the roof.

I painted over the textured areas in white acrylic and then gave the white painted areas on the front of the house another coat.

My next step was to add glitter, again to make everything look more snowy.

I found this whole process quite tedious as I am not a big fan of waiting for things to dry and unfortunately this part of the project included a lot of that!  I was however able to make some of things to put inside the house while I waited.

I also ended up with glitter all over me and all over the house.  I'm still finding it a week later.

The next step was to fill the house.  I used lots of different things for this - various die cut and wooden elements and things I made myself.  The snowman, trees and snowballs are all made out of air dry polymer clay and painted with acrylic.  This gave me something to do whilst waiting for paint, glue and texture mediums to dry, but then I had to wait for these to dry too!

The final thing for me to do was to add the die cut snowflakes to the front of the house.  I used various different snowflake dies and cut the snowflakes from white, blue and silver card, then glued them on.  I hope you can join us this week at Make My Monday

Cardz 4 Galz: Favourite Flower and why

Good morning.  Today's challenge at Cardz 4 Galz is to create something using your favourite flower and to say why it's your favourite.  My favourite flowers are roses because I love the way they smell.  I grew up in a house with a garden full of rose bushes in all different colours.

The rose on the top right is probably one of my oldest stamps which I bought when I first started card making over twelve years ago.  I can't remember who it's made by!  I stamped the road and coloured it with watercolour paints.

The panel behind was created by stamping in Versamark and embossing with white powder.  Then I painted over the top with watercolours.  When the paint was almost dry I rubbed gently over the top with a tissue to take the paint off the white embossing.

I layered these elements onto pink and white card and some rose patterned paper, and then embellished my card with a pink ribbon and bow and some ribbon roses.  I bought the ribbon roses, but I need to find some time to learn how to make them (there are some good tutorials on Pinterest).

I hope you can join us this week at Cardz 4 Galz.

Cardz 4 Guyz: Remembrance or Sympathy

Today's challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz is remembrance or sympathy.  I was initially going to make a remembrance card, but sadly I have nothing suitable in my craft stash at the moment, a situation that I think needs to be remedied.

I made my card using a stamp by Inkylicious , with a Distress Ink background, then stamped my sentiment onto patterned papers with matching colours.

The background of the card was dry embossed using an embossing folder.

I hop you can join us this week at Cardz 4 Guyz.

Make My Monday: I Put a Spell On You

Today's theme at Make My Monday is I Put a Spell on You (Halloween), or you can make a Thank You card as an alternative if Halloween is not your thing.

I created this card using a digi stamp by Ching Chou Kuik, which I coloured with Polychromos pencils.

The background is Distress Ink and Diostress Oxider, overstamped with layers of cobwebs in black, green and orange.  I also used distress inks around the edges of my main image to make it pop out.

The critters are the corners are die cuts using dies by Marianne Designs.

I hope you can join us this week at Make My Monday.

Cardz 4 Galz: Monochromatic

Good morning!  It's time for another challenge at Cardz 4 Galz, and this week's theme is monochromatic.    Having made one Halloween card already, I was still in a Halloween kind of mood when I made this one.  I wanted to do something a bit different than the last card, so I decided on shades of purple.

I came across this amazing digi stamp by Molly Harrison Art when browsing on Etsy, and I had to have her.  I think she's cute but has bags of attitude!  I coloured her with Polychromos pencils.   I don't usually do backgrounds when I'm colouring for cards, mainly because they're not my strong point, but this image had the moon and a horizon line, so I decided to give it a go and I'm actually fairly pleased with how it's turned out.

For the rest of my card I used patterned papers, which I stamped with that spider web stamp I was talking about in my last post!  The creepy crawlies are die cuts by Marianne Designs

I hop you can join us this week at Cardz 4 Galz.

Cardz 4 Guyz: Boo!

Good morning.  Today's challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz is Boo!  (Halloween), or autumn as an alternative if Halloween is not your thing.

I don't send cards at Halloween, but I love anything dark and spooky so I love creating Halloween themed things.

The main Image on my card is a digi stamp by Oddball Art Co, and I coloured him with Polychromos pencils.  The bats are part of the same image.

I wanted to create an atmospheric background for this card so I blended some distress inks and then splashed with water.  I was originally going to use a small spider web stamp on the background, but I couldn't find it so instead I decided to draw a large spider web.  I'm glad I did because I like the effect, and I think this card has ended up looking quite dramatic.  (Not surprisingly my stamp turned up half an hour later when I was looking for something else - I've used it for some of my other Halloween cards!)

I hope you can join us this week at Cardz 4 Guyz.

Make My Monday: Animal Antics

Good morning!  Today's challenge at Make My Monday is Animal Antics.  I decided it was time to make something other than a card, so I made a set of cat bookmarks.   I hope you like them.

I made these using a set of stamps by Hobbyart.  I think these cats are so cute and full of character.

I stamped the cats and coloured them with Polychromos pencils.  I tried to do real cat colours for these, which I hope has worked!  I layered my cats onto patterned papers , and added an eyelet and some ribbon and fibre tassels.

I hope  you can join us this week at Make My Monday!

Cardz 4 Galz: Dragonflies

Today is my turn to choose the challenge at Cardz 4 Galz, and I've chosen the theme of dragonflies.

I started off by creating the background of my card, which I made using Distress Oxide inks.  I dabbed the inks onto a craft mat and spritzed with water., then put my paper down onto it, drying with a heat gun and repeating until I was happy with how it looked, then I splashed it with water and dried with the heat gun again several times.  Finally I spritzed it lightly with mica spray for a bit of sparkle.

I layered the background onto pearlescent card and die cut the dragonflies from the same card.  The I die cut them again from vellum and stuck the vellum wings onto the original die cuts, shaped them and added some glitter.  To finish my card I added some gems and pearls and a die cut tag.  I stamped the sentiment on the tag with Versamark ink and embossed it with glitter embossing powder.

I hop you can join this week's challenge at Cardz 4 Galz

Cardz 4 Guyz: Architecture

Good morning. Today's challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz is architecture.  I struggled a bit with knowing what to do for this one, and finally settles on this stamp by Paperartsy that I used to make a row of houses.  I coloured the houses in bright colours using Polychromos pencils.

This is a side hinged DL card, and I decided to make it for my brother for his birthday.

I hope you can join us this week at Cardz 4 Guyz.

Make My Monday: Autumn Colours

Hello again.  Today I amm sharing my DT card for Make My Monday.  This week's challenge is to use autumn colours.  I have to admit, these are not my favourite colours and I find it quite hard to use them.  I am however pleased with how this one turned out.

I started by making a background using Distress inks and Distress Oxides.  I did this by first applying the Distress Inks on a craft mat and then pressing a piece of Kraft card down on top of the ink.  Then I dried the inks using a heat gun and repeated this step using the Distress Oxide.  I then splashed water onto the card and dried it with a heat gun, repeating this step until I was happy with the effect.

I dried my card off, then ironed it between two Teflon Sheets to give a flat surface to stamp on.  Then I stamped the flowers in Versamark Ink and embossed them using Wow! black sparkle embossing powder.   The stamps are by Paperartsy and are some of my acquisitions from the Happy Stampers Festival in May (I'm going again in October and still haven't used everything I bought at the last one!)

I painted the stamped flowers with white gesso, then left my card to dry overnight (I hate this step because I'm very impatient).  The next day I coloured the flowers with Polychromos pencils, and layered my stamped image onto brown card and a Kraft 6x6 card blank.

I hope you can join in the fun at Make My Monday.

Cardz 4 Galz: Welcome Little Baby

Good morning!   Today's challenge at Cardz 4 Galz  is to make a baby card.  Obviously, this being Cardz 4 Galz it needs to be for a baby girl.

I used a cute stamp by Lili of the Valley for this card, which I stamped in grey ink so it wouldn't stand out too much against the pastel colours of the card.

I stamped my image onto a die cut circle and coloured it with Polychromos pencils.  Then I mounted it onto a pink fancy circle die cut.  I layered the mounted image onto coordinating patterned papers and added some baby buttons and a ribbon to embellish it.

I hope you can join our challenge this week at Cardz 4 Galz.

Cardz 4 Guyz: Nature

Hello everyone.  Today's challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz is nature.

I wanted to make a messy background for this one, so I started off making a background with Walnut Brown Distress Oxide ink, then used a tree stencil with Distress Inks and inked over the top.  I die cut the mushrooms using a die by Marianne Designs, which is one of my favourites, then coloured them with Polychromos pencils.

I stamped the sentiment and then added the die cut critters which I coloured using a combination of Polychromos pencils and Promarkers.  The insect dies are also by Marianne Designs.

I hope you can join us for his week's challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz.

Make My Monday: Something for a Child

Good morning!  Today's challenge at Make My Monday is to make something for a child.  For this week's DT card I decided to go right out of my comfort zone for this one and make something very, very girly!  Those of you who have known me for a long time will know that I usually don't do girly (although I have mellowed somewhat over the years and a few more feminine things creep into my crafting from time to time now).  Pink, pastel colours, glitter and a unicorn - this card has everything girly that I could think of.

I used a digi stamp by Some Odd Girl for this card, and coloured it using Polychromos pencils.  I added glitter too the mane, tail, hooves, eye and horn.  I layered my image onto patterned papers and added some die cut stars.  I then added some glitter to the stars.  The sentiment is stamped and embossed using a glitter Wow! embossing power.

I hope you can join us this week at Make My Monday.

Cardz 4 Galz: Get Krafty

Good morning.  This is my DT card for Cardz 4 Galz.  This week's theme is "Get Krafty" - to create something using Kraft Card.

I love colouring onto Kraft Card, so I used this as an opportunity to try out some of my as yet unused stamps that I bought at the Happy Stampers Festival back in May.  These  stamps are from the Eclectica range by Paperartsy, and I coloured them using Polychromos pencils.

I wanted my stamped image to be the main focus of the card, so I kept it quite simple, just adding some faux stitching in white gel pen and the die cut "Thank you".

I hope you can join us this week at Cardz 4 Galz.

Cardz 4 Galz: Cats/Kittens

Good morning.  Today's challenge at Cardz 4 Galz is cats or kittens.  This was a great opportunity for me to use one of my new Visible Image stamp sets.  These stamps are from the Curious Cats set.

I created the background for this card with Brushos then stamped the cat face on top.  I coloured the eyes and nose with metallic watercolours and added some white gel pen to the highlights.   then I stamped the sentiment underneath.

I stamped the whiskers in Versamark and embossed them with a fine, white embossing powder.  I added a bit of Stickles glitter glue to the whiskers and to the sentiment to give my card a bit of sparkle then finally added some paper flowers.

I hope you can join us this week at Cardz 4 Galz.

Cardz 4 Guyz: Fancy Folds

Good morning!  Today's challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz is fancy folds.   I didn't have time to make anything TOO fancy  (by the time you read this I will be away on holiday), so I decided to make a zigzag card.  I made this card using some brilliant Paperartsy Jofy stamps that I picked up at Happy Stampers in may but have only just had chance to use.  I absolutely love these stamps and think they're great for a boy's card.

I coloured my stamped images with metallic watercolours and cut them out.    Then I layered them onto patterned papers and blue card.  I also added some die cut pipes.  These are Robert Addams dies that I picked up from a craft show back in February, and this is the first opportunity I've had to use them.  The picture at the bottom shows the dies cuts in more detail.

I hope you can join us this week at Cardz 4 Guyz.

Make My Monday: Grey and Pink

Hi everyone.  It's time for a new challenege again at Make My Monday.  This week's challenge is a colour challenge - grey and pink - and I have to say I love this colour combination!

The main focus of my card is a colalge stamp by Imagination Crafts.  I stamped this twice and cut out the butterflies from one of the stamped images.  I also stamped the smaller butterflies which are part of the same set.  I coloured all of the stamped images with Distress Inks.  I layered the cut out butterflies onto the main stamped image and shaped their wings.  I then layered my stamped image onto grey card and patterned papers and added the sentiment.  I added the smaller butterflies at the corners.  Finally I added a bit of Stickles glitter glue to the butterflies to give them a bit of sparkle.  I hope you can join us this week at Make My Monday.

Cardz 4 Galz: Pretty Pastels

Good morning.  Today's challenge at Cardz 4 Galz is Pretty Pastels - to make a card using pastel colours.  I have kept this card quite simple as I wanted the focus to be on the die cut trellis and flowers.

I die cut the trellis from purple card and stuck it onto a patterned paper background.  Then I die cut the flowers from vellum, coloured them with Promarkers and shaped them using an embossing tool.  I stuck them onto the trellis and added some gems and pearls for centres.

I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment onto some coordinating patterned paper and cut it into a tag shape which I layered onto card then punched a hole and added some pink and white baker's twine.  I also added some tiny die cut butterflies and stuck some tiny pearls onto them.

I hope you can join us this week at Cardz 4 Galz.

Make My Monday: Monochromatic

Good morning.  Today's challenge at Make My Monday is monochromatic.  Make a card using only one colour.  As you can see, I chose blue.

I created the background using Distress Inks and Distress Oxide and then stamped the horse over the top once it was dry.  I then stamped the smaller horses in blue so it looks like they are a distance behind the main image, and stamped the sentiment.  The stamps are all from a set called Stay Wild by Visible Image.

I added some white gel pen, and then added some black and silver embossing powders at the bottom left which I stuck  with Versamark on the edges and then sprinkled on with my fingers to blend with the stamp.  I heated from underneath so as not to blow them away.

I hope you can join in the fun this week at Make My Monday.

Cardz 4 Galz: Christmas or Winter

Good morning.  With Cardz 4 Galz this week we're continuing the Christmas theme.  This week's challenge is Christmas or Winter.

I used an image by Di's Digistamps to create my card, coloured with Polychromos pencils.  Since this is Cardz 4 Galz I wanted to create something very girly, hence the use of the pale lilac colours and the girly image.

I layered my coloured image onto pattered papers and embelllished my card with die cut cnowflakes.  Finally I added some glitter to the image and the snowflakes.  (Every girly Christmas card MUST have glitter!)

I hope you can join in the fun this week at Cardz 4 Galz.

Cardz 4 Guyz: Christmas in July

Hello everyone.  It's that time again.  (Well, not really, but we have to start early when everything's handmade).  Today's challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz is Christmas in July.

I made this card using a freebie image that I downloaded ages ago.  I have this credited to Kasjan's Scrapblog, but I can't find the link now.  Anyway, I love this image - it's so cute!  I coloured it with Polychromos pencils and layered it onto patterned papers.

I embellished my card with raffia, a mini bow, bells and wooden stars.

Make My Monday: Travel/Vacation

Good morning.  Today's Challenge at Make My Monday is Travel/Vacation.  I created this card using the Sheena Douglass stamps that were free with a recent edition of Papercrafter Magazine (I have to confess that I bought the magazine just for these stamps!)

I made the front of the card using the emboss resist technique.  I repeatedly stamped the compass rose in Versamark Ink, then embossed it with clear embossing powder.  Then I inked over it using Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink, and finally splashed some water over it.  I did the Bon Voyage sentiment in the same way.

The porthole is another stamp from the set.  I stamped it, coloured it with Promarkers,  then cut it out using circle embossing dies.  I cut a circular aperture in the front of the card, then stuck the porthole around the aperture.

I added a die cut anchor to match my red border.

To create the  inside of the card.  I cut a square of red card to match the border on the front of the card and stamped the ship onto a circle of card.  I coloured it using Polychromos pencils, then layered it onto a blue circle and stuck it on.

I hope you can join us this week at Make My Monday

Cardz 4 Galz: Butterflies

Good morning!  Today's challenge at Cardz 4 Galz  is butterflies.  I've made a CAS card for this one, using rainbow coloured butterflies which I cut from Brusho backgrounds.

I hope you can join our challenge this week at Cardz 4 Galz.

Cardz 4 Guyz: Beside the Sea

Today's challenge at Cardz 4 Guys is Beside the Sea.  I created my card using a digi stamp by Delicious Doodles, which I coloured using Polychromos pencils.

I added some patterned papers and die cut shells and anchor.

I hope you can join us this week at Cardz 4 Guyz.

Make My Monday: Summer Brights

Hello!  Today it is my turn to choose the challenge at Make My Monday, and I have chosen the theme Summer Brights.  I have chosen to use these great Paperartsy stamps (one of my acquisitions from the Happy Stampers show) for this challenge, which I coloured with Promarkers.

I created the background using Brushos and stamped the background images in Distress Inks, then I cut out the stamped and coloured flowers and layered them on top, and finally stamped the sentiment.

This is a DL sized card, and is the first one I've made in a very long time!

I hope you can join us this week at Make My Monday.
