Cardz 4 Guyz: Sketch

Good morning.  today we have a sketch challenge for you at Cardz 4 Guyz - to make a card using the sketch on the left.  You can see my card below.
I used a fantastic set of stamps by Hobbyart to make my card, which I coloured using Prismacolor pencils.I cut my three circles into white card then embossed it using an embossing folder.  I put a piece of red card behind and added some patterned papers behind the circles.  I layered both the front layer of my card and the sheep up using foam pads to create a bit of depth.   Finally I added the sentiment.  I think it goes well, since the sheep all look so grumpy!
I hope you can join us this week at Cardz 4 Guyz.

Make My Monday: Messy Backgrounds

Hi everyone.  Today it's my turn to choose the challenge at Make My Monday.  I have chosen the theme of messy backgrounds mainly because getting messy is something I don't seem to do enough of these days.

I decided to go with a valentine theme, although I know I'm a few days late with this!  I always think it's really difficult to make valentine's cards for men, so that's what I had in mind when I made this one.

I created the background using Brushos and water, then added a sprinkling of Wow! embossing powder in Mermaid's Tail, which is a kind of silver, shimmery irridescent powder.

This heart is a Leonie Pujol die cut.  I die cut the heart and the swirls and embossed them with different colours of Wow! embossing powder, then stuck them onto my card.   Finally I added the sentiment "I love us", which is from and Idea-ology pad by Tim Holtz.

I hope you can join us this week at Make My Monday.

Cardz 4 Galz: Rubber Stamping

Good morning. This week's challenge at Cardz 4 Galz is Rubber stamping.  You can use a rubber or acrylic stamp, but no digis please!

I created my card using a stamp by Creative Expressions.  I started by stamping the tree, then masked it off  using masking fluid.  This is great and really easy to use because you can protect part of your work and then just peel it off.

I created my background with Brushos, first spritzing the whole background with water, then sprinkling the Brushos on.  I've made a hole in the top of each of my Brusho pots, which makes them much easier to sprinkle, but if you don't want to do this you can pick a small amount up on a paintbrush and then tap it off.

Once my background was dry I peeled off the masking fluid and painted the tree using pearlescent watercolours.  I added some Stickles glitter glue around the spirals and some sparkly gems in the centre of each one.  Finally I added gems at the corner and the sentiment "leave a little sparkle wherever you go", which is an Idea-ology pad by Tim Holtz.

I hope you can join the fun this week at Cardz 4 Galz.

Cardz 4 Guyz: Something Beginning with L

Good morning.  This week's challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz is something beginning with L.    As you can see, I chose a lighthouse.

This is a stamp by Michael Powell, which I've had for a few years.  His scenes are amazing, but they take a very long time to colour!

I coloured this using Prismacolor pencils, and layered my finished picture onto card and patterned paper.

I hope you can join in the fun this week at Cardz 4 Guyz

Bloobel Digistamps: Cat Egghead

Hi everyone.  This is a card I've created using one of the new Eggheads stamps by Bloobel.  I love this little cat.  He has such a funny expression on this face.  You can find him in the Bloobel Shop here.

I coloured him with Polychromos pencils, cut him out and layered him onto card and patterned papers.  I finished off the card with some die cut butterflies, but didn't embellish it too much, as I wanted the focus to be on the cat.

I hope you like him.

Make My Monday: Going in Circles

Hello again.  Today's challenge at Make My Monday is Going in Circles - use at least 3 circles on your project.  I think I've managed to use a few more than that.

The image I've used on this card is by Di's Digi Stamps, and I coloured him for December's pencil class at Kit and Clowder.  I used Prismacolor pencils for this one.

I cut my image using a circle die and layered him onto a chain frame die.  I put it behind rather than on top for a slightly different effect.  Then I used a die to cut the smaller circles behind.  I cut the die cut into bits so I could have some circles showing all around my image.  I layered all this onto patterned paper and orange card.

The sentiment is stamped.  I used a stamp that I got free with a magazine some time ago, but I can't remember which one.  The paper flowers are another anonymous magzine freebie!

I hope you can join the fun this week at Make My Monday.

Cardz 4 Galz: Think Pink

Good morning.  Today's challenge at Cardz 4 Galz is Think Pink - to create a pink card.  Pink is not my favourite colour.  It's far too girly in my opinion, but I do like to make pink cards occasionally.  My aim with this one was to create a card for a little girl.

The image I used on this card is by Bloobel Digistamps.  He's called pretty Pekingese and can be found in the Bloobel shop.  I think he's SO cute!

I coloured this one using Polychromos pencils.  I think I like them better than the Prismacolors for doing fur.

I layered my dog onto pink card  and patterned papers, and embellished it with some pink ribbon, pink sparkly mesh and some paper flowers.  I used buttons and pearls for the flower centres.

I hope you can join us this week at Cardz 4 Galz.
