Friendly Plastic Pendant

I don't make much Friendly Plastic jewellery, mainly because I'm not really sure what I'm doing, (anyone want to teach me?), and I never think I will be able to come up with something that someone actually wants to wear.  Anyway, I was feeling  very inspired yesterday after doing lots of blog hopping (and I have lots of blue clothes and no jewellery to wear with them), so I decided to use of some of my FP scraps.  This is what I came up with, and whilst I know it's not perfect, I'm actually quite pleased with how it's turned out! 

I started off by making the frame using ArtEmboss aluminium.  I rolled in the edges using a cocktail stick to start me off and make sure they were reasonably straight, and pressed down with an embossing tool to create the indentations.  I used acrylic paint to create the slightly aged effect.  Then I found some FP scraps, heated them with my heat gun and pressed them into the frame, makign sure there were no gaps.  If the FP started to cool too much I just gave it a blast with the heat gun whilst in the frame - this helped it to stick too.  Then when I'd filled the frame I added a glaze over the top and left it to dry.  I was originally going to solder a jump ring onto the top, but have discovered that soldering doesn't really work with aluminium (or maybe I just need more practice)!  Anyway, I settled for  punching a tiny hole through the top and adding wire.  I added some FP beads and some small seed beads on the wire and twisted it around to make a loop at the top.

Makin's Clay Pendant

This is my entry for this month's UK Art Raffle (there's a link on the right). This month's theme is circles - whatever you make must have a circle on it somehere.

I started off with a circle of Makin's Clay which I'd rolled with lace over the top to get the texture. I then made the face using a mould and stuck it on and added some rolled strands of clay for the hair. I made holes at the top and bottom using a fine embossing tool. When it was dry I painted it with black acrylic and added some shimmer using a mixture of Mica Powders and PVA glue.

Finally I added beads which I attached with with wire and some black thonging.

Stampbord Brooch ATCs

These are for a swap being hosted by Clare on the DoCrafts forum.

The backgrounds are stamped and inked. The brooches are Stampbord with a stamped image and the background coloured with inks, and UTEE over the top. They are pinned to the ATCs and are detachable and wearable.

Another Stampbord Pendant

This is a stamped image on Stampbord with an inked background. I've scratched bits away to create highlights but unfortunately the photo was taken in bad light so it doesn't show up too well, and also the colours are brighter than they look. I've added a couple of layers of UTEE over the top to portect the image.

Stampbord Pendant

This is a pendant I've made out of Stampbord. I've done the background using blue and green inks applied with a sponge, stamped the owl image on top, scraped away part of the colour with a needle to create highlights and then added UTEE over the top. I've then added beads, wire and a smaller owl image which I've stamped on shrink plastic and coloured with inks.
