Make a Moo or Two: The Number 1

This week's theme at Make a Moo or Two is the number 1, to celebrate Make a Moo or Two's first anniversary. There must be a number 1 somewhere on each Moo.

I made my Moos firstly by brushing a thin layer of gesso over the background so that it only partly covered the card, then inked over it using two colours of inks and added some background stamps. I added hearts, wings and a crown to my main images which are cut from book pages and inked, as are the number 1s. I printed the words out from the computer and inked them in the same way, and finally added some tiny pink gems.

Make a Moo or Two - Vintage Love

I haven't joined in Make a Moo or Two for a while and thought it was about time I did, so these are my Moos for this week's challenge on the theme of vintage love.

Make a Moo or Two: Summer

This week's challenge on Make a Moo or Two is summer. I've chosen bright and summery colours for these. I've done an emboss resist background using clear embossing powder and three shades of Adirondack inks. The suns were created by inking through the hole in the the centre of a washer. I've used various printed images and some tiny Prima flowers with seed beads for the centres.

Make a Moo or Two: Men

This week's challenge on Make a Moo or Two is men. I've decided to do some stamped Moos this week. I've stuck on the bits of music score at the bottom, the hats and the words, and the postmarks in the top left corners are stamped and embossed (unfortunately my orange embossing powder is a bit transparent).

Make a Moo or Two: Brown, Beige and Cream

This week's challenge on Make a Moo or Two is to make a Moo using only the colours brown, beige and cream. As these are very natural colours, I've made my Moos to a nature theme and used some natural materials on them.

Make a Moo or Two: Dots and Stripes

I haven't joined in with Make a Moo or Two for a couple of weeks now, partly because of lots of looming deadlines and partly because of my recent lack of inspiration for anything artistic. Anyway, I think I'm back on track now, so here are my entries for this week's theme of Dots and Stripes.
I made the stripy background by masking with pieces of paper and inking. The dotty background is done by inking through sequin waste. I've used vintage images, inked and drawn on the dresses with a black pen, and added hats.

Make a Moor or Two: Gold

This week's challenge on Make a Moo or Two is Gold. There must be gold somewhere on the Moo. For this set I've used rubber stamps, old sewing pattern images, gilding flakes and brass tape.

Make a Moo or Two: Girls

This week's challenge on

Make a Moo or Two is Girls, and these are my Moos. I'm not sure why I've chosen to do them like this as I hardly ever do pink, and I almost NEVER do girly, but these are, I think, the pinkest and girliest things I've ever made. I can only assume that somewhere deep inside me there's a little bit of girliness waiting to jump out whenever I give it the opportunity! Ah well...

Make a Moo or Two: Vintage

These are my efforts for this week's Make a Moo or Two. This week's theme is vintage. I enjoy doing these as it's a challenge to work so small. I think there will be lots more moos to come!
