Hi everyone! Today I am sharing my DT card for Cardz 4 Galz. This week's challenge is furry friends.
I've used a stamped image on my card, which is quite an old stamp by Penny Black. I've had this one for ages, and I seem to remember getting it for next to nothing in a sale. It's one of my favourite stamps.
I stamped my image onto kraft paper and coloured it with Prismacolor pencils, then layered it onto card and patterned papers. As a final touch I added some paper flowers and some sticky backed pearls in the centre. Most of my flowers started off white and I coloured them with Promarkers. I mostly use my Promarkers for this kind of thing now, as I stopped colouring with them when they stopped making the fine tips, which I think was a real shame.
I hope you can join our challenge this week at Cardz 4 Galz.

Make My Monday: Messy Backgrounds
Hi everyone. Today it's my turn to choose the challenge at Make My Monday. I have chosen the theme of messy backgrounds mainly because getting messy is something I don't seem to do enough of these days.
I decided to go with a valentine theme, although I know I'm a few days late with this! I always think it's really difficult to make valentine's cards for men, so that's what I had in mind when I made this one.
I created the background using Brushos and water, then added a sprinkling of Wow! embossing powder in Mermaid's Tail, which is a kind of silver, shimmery irridescent powder.
This heart is a Leonie Pujol die cut. I die cut the heart and the swirls and embossed them with different colours of Wow! embossing powder, then stuck them onto my card. Finally I added the sentiment "I love us", which is from and Idea-ology pad by Tim Holtz.
I hope you can join us this week at Make My Monday.

Cardz 4 Galz: Rubber Stamping
Good morning. This week's challenge at Cardz 4 Galz is Rubber stamping. You can use a rubber or acrylic stamp, but no digis please!
I created my card using a stamp by Creative Expressions. I started by stamping the tree, then masked it off using masking fluid. This is great and really easy to use because you can protect part of your work and then just peel it off.
I created my background with Brushos, first spritzing the whole background with water, then sprinkling the Brushos on. I've made a hole in the top of each of my Brusho pots, which makes them much easier to sprinkle, but if you don't want to do this you can pick a small amount up on a paintbrush and then tap it off.
Once my background was dry I peeled off the masking fluid and painted the tree using pearlescent watercolours. I added some Stickles glitter glue around the spirals and some sparkly gems in the centre of each one. Finally I added gems at the corner and the sentiment "leave a little sparkle wherever you go", which is an Idea-ology pad by Tim Holtz.
I hope you can join the fun this week at Cardz 4 Galz.

Cardz 4 Guyz: Something Beginning with L
Good morning. This week's challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz is something beginning with L. As you can see, I chose a lighthouse.
This is a stamp by Michael Powell, which I've had for a few years. His scenes are amazing, but they take a very long time to colour!
I coloured this using Prismacolor pencils, and layered my finished picture onto card and patterned paper.
I hope you can join in the fun this week at Cardz 4 Guyz.

Bloobel Digistamps: Cat Egghead
Hi everyone. This is a card I've created using one of the new Eggheads stamps by Bloobel. I love this little cat. He has such a funny expression on this face. You can find him in the Bloobel Shop here.
I coloured him with Polychromos pencils, cut him out and layered him onto card and patterned papers. I finished off the card with some die cut butterflies, but didn't embellish it too much, as I wanted the focus to be on the cat.
I hope you like him.

Make My Monday: Going in Circles
Hello again. Today's challenge at Make My Monday is Going in Circles - use at least 3 circles on your project. I think I've managed to use a few more than that.
The image I've used on this card is by Di's Digi Stamps, and I coloured him for December's pencil class at Kit and Clowder. I used Prismacolor pencils for this one.
I cut my image using a circle die and layered him onto a chain frame die. I put it behind rather than on top for a slightly different effect. Then I used a die to cut the smaller circles behind. I cut the die cut into bits so I could have some circles showing all around my image. I layered all this onto patterned paper and orange card.
The sentiment is stamped. I used a stamp that I got free with a magazine some time ago, but I can't remember which one. The paper flowers are another anonymous magzine freebie!
I hope you can join the fun this week at Make My Monday.

Cardz 4 Galz: Think Pink
Good morning. Today's challenge at Cardz 4 Galz is Think Pink - to create a pink card. Pink is not my favourite colour. It's far too girly in my opinion, but I do like to make pink cards occasionally. My aim with this one was to create a card for a little girl.
The image I used on this card is by Bloobel Digistamps. He's called pretty Pekingese and can be found in the Bloobel shop. I think he's SO cute!
I coloured this one using Polychromos pencils. I think I like them better than the Prismacolors for doing fur.
I layered my dog onto pink card and patterned papers, and embellished it with some pink ribbon, pink sparkly mesh and some paper flowers. I used buttons and pearls for the flower centres.
I hope you can join us this week at Cardz 4 Galz.

Cardz 4 Guyz: Music
Hi everyone! It's time for a new challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz, and this week's challenge is music.
The stamp I've used on my card is by Lili of the Valley, and I coloured it with Prismacolor pencils. I still can't decide which pencils I like best.
I created the background with Distress Oxides and water, and added some die cut notes and lots of little stars. The stars were from The Works and came in little glass bottles. I had to glue them all on individually, which was quite fiddly and time consuming!
I hope you can join us at Cardz 4 Guyz this week.

Make My Monday: Fancy Folds
Good morning. Today's challenge at Make My Monday is fancy folds. This is something I don't do very often because fancy folds are time consuming, usually involving a lot of cutting and folding. As someone who works full time, has children and
also does some voluntary work, my craft time is somewhat limited! That said, it's nice to do something a bit difference once in a while, and this was an interesting challenge. I found a tutorial on Pinterest for a trifold shutter card, and decided to give it a go. I don't think it's turned out too bad for a first attempt!
This card is actually quite easy to make, using the aforementioned measuring and cutting. Once I's done the measuring, cutting and folding I layered some pink card and patterned paper onto the various sections of my card and embellished it with die cut flowers and butterflies. I stamped the sentiment, and finished off my card with a bit of bling. I'm going to try this again, I think, but with the panels of patterned paper laid out differently as I think you can probably create various different looks with this design.
I hope you can join us this week at Make My Monday.

Cardz 4 Galz: Anything but Square
Good morning! This week we are kicking off a new year of challenges at Cardz 4 Galz with a theme of anything but square. I must admit, I do get into a rut of making lots of square cards, so it was good to do something different.
For this card I used a set of Gorjuss stamps by Santoro. Everything except the background (which is patterned paper) is stamped and coloured with Prismacolor pencils.
I hope you can join us for a new year of challenges at Cardz 4 Galz.

Cardz 4 Guyz: January Blues
Hi everyone. I seems likes ages since the last challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz. It's my turn to choose the theme this week, so I've decided to kick off the New Year with a nice easy theme of January Blues. You can make a card on any theme as long as it's in shades of blue.
I created my card using an image by Polkadoodles which I coloured with Prismacolor pencils.
I made the background using Distress Inks and Distress Oxides, and stencilled on the star background. I stamped the happy birthday sentiment and the small notes to the left, and die cut the music running across behind the guitarist.
I hope you can join us this week at Cardz 4 Guyz.

Bloobel Digi Stamps: Inappropriate Cat
Two posts in one day! What's going on?
This afternoon I am sharing a card I made using this wonderful image from Bloobel Digi Stamps called Inappropriate Cat. You can find him in the Bloobel shop here. When I saw this image I knew I had to make a card with him. I love him so much! I also have a cat that does this, so he made me laugh (well, I kind of have a cat anyway, but that's another story).
I coloured my cat using Prismacolour pencils and layered him onto coordinating grey card and patterned papers. I wanted to keep the focuse on the image, so kept the embellishment simple on this one, just using some Card Candi dots in coordinating colours.
I hope you like him!

Bloobel Stamps: Heart Surprise
Hello and Happy New Year! This was one of my last cards of 2017, made using a New release by Bloobel Stamps. This image is called Heart Surprise and you can find him here.
I think this is a great image for a not very traditional Valentine's card, and since I don't do traditional Valentines then I thought it was perfect!
I coloured him using Prismacolor pencils. This is one of my first attempts with them (I have been using Polychromos up to now), so I hope I've done this justice!
I'm still trying to figure out whether I like Polychromos or Prismacolours best. I think they both have pros and cons, so it may just depend on what I'm colouring.
Anyway, all the best for 2018, and you will see some more cards from me soon.
