Owls
I managed to make a few Christmas cards this year, although probably not as many as I would've liked. They should now have all been opened, so I'm safe to post pictures of them.
This one was made using a digi stamp by Craftin Desert Divas. I printed it on kraft card and coloured it with Prismacolor pencils.
I layered my image onto patterned papers and added some wooden snowflake embellishments.
I hope you like it.

Cardz 4 Guyz: New Year, New Beginnings
Good morning. This week's challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz is New Year, New Beginnings. I decided to go for a bit of a silly one for this. I thought this image by Dr Digi would be perfect!
I coloured him with Prismacolor pencils and layered him onto patterned papers. I added a printed sentiment and kept the embellishments simple with a couple of buttons. I added a bit of sparkle to the umbrella because we all need a bit of sparkle on New Year's Eve!
I hope you can join in the fun this week at Cardz 4 Guyz.

Hi everyone. This is a card I created using my colouring from one of the recent Kit and Clowder pencil classes. This image was a freebie with the class, and I coloured it with Prismacolor pencils.
I used patterned papers to match the leaves in the picture and flowers in colours to match the ones in the pitcure.

Hi everyone. Since my last couple of cards have been wintery, I thought I'd share something a bit more bright and summery. This is a card made using an image by Dr Digi that I coloured a while back but never got around to making into a card. I coloured it with Prismacolor pencils.

A Partridge in a Pear Tree
Good morning. I've been off work for a couple of days, so have had a bit more time to craft than usual. I made this card using an image by Hannah Lynn Designs that I coloured last year for one of the Kit and Clowder colouring classes. I coloured her with Polychromos pencils.
My image is layered onto patterned and glitter papers and I've embellished my card with some wooden stars and sparkly ribbon.

Cardz 4 Guyz: Triangles
Good morning. After a few months off, I am back to creating things for the Cardz 4 Guyz design team. This
week's theme is triangles.
For my DT card, I decided to use some old Paperartsy stamps that I've had for a few years. I stamped them onto patterned papers and stuck them onto kraft card, then matted and layered onto more patterned papers.
Some nice simple cards to get me back into the swing of things!
I look forward to seeing everyone's creations this week at Cardz 4 Guyz.

Cardz 4 Guyz: Metallic Madness
Hi everyone! today it's my turn to choose the theme at Cardz 4 Guyz I've chosen a theme of Metallic Madness - use something metal or metallic on your card.
I decided to do some metal embossing, which is something I hadn't done for quite a while. I started with a piece of thin copper, stamped an image on the back with Stazon ink, then placed my them stamped metal on a foam mat and used an embossing tool to go over the stamped image. I added the frame using a roller tool.
I wanted to make the embossed panel look old, so I painted it with black acrylic paint and then rubbed it off with a piece of kitchen roll. I left it to dry, then matted and layered it onto black and gold card.
To create the background of the card, I dabbed Versamark ink through a stencil then gently brushed on mica powder in various metallic colours.
To finish off my card I added some die cut cogs and wheels and a stick on sentiment.
I hope you can join us this week at Cardz 4 Guyz.

Make My Monday: Go Green (Upcycle)
Good morning. Today's challenge at Make My Monday is to upcycle something.
I chose to upcycle a wooden tray which held embellishments into a wall hanging. The tray was already black. I used some metallic rub-ons in various shades of gold, silver and copper on the top of the tray, then made some holes in one side and threaded some ribbon through.
I die cut some flowers in various bright colours and stuck them into each section of the tray.

Cardz 4 Guyz: Men's Hobbies
Hello again. This week's challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz is Men's Hobbies. I am of the view that men can have any hobby they like, but decided to go with something traditionally male and chose fishing.
I created my card using this brilliant image by Dr Digi. Doesn't he look pleased with himself? I printed him on kraft card and coloured him with Prismacolor pencils, then layered him onto patterned papers. I also added some sticky backed ribbon.
I didn't want to detract from the image, so kept my embellishment on this one really simple (and free!), using the top of a wine cork in the bottom right corner.

Make My Monday: Embossing - Wet or Dry
Good morning. It's time for another challenge at Make My Monday, and this week's theme is embossing. You have a choice of either wet or dry embossing.
I've chosen dry embossing for my card. I started off by creating embossed panels with white and lilac card using embossing folders, then layered them onto a slightly darker purple. Then I added some coordinating ribbon. (The ribbon looks a bit grey in the photo, but is much more purple in real life!)
I die cut and embossed some flowers and coloured with Promarkers in matching shades of purple/lilac. I shaped them using an embossing tool and a foam mat, and finished them off with pearl centres. Finally I added a printed sentiment.

Cardz 4 Galz: April Showers
It's time for a new challenge at Cardz 4 Galz. This week's theme is April Showers.
I've used a digi stamp by Cute as a Button for my card. This is a 7" x 7" card, as I thought she would look too tiny on a smaller one. This is a size I've only used a few times so far, but I think I like it. It allows you to use a slightly bigger image, but without having too much space. (I am not a fan of 8" x 8" as I think it's just a bit too big, probably because I spent a lot of time making ATCs so am used to working on a very small scale).
I coloured my image using Prismacolor pencils. I think they're just about winning over the Polychromos, but only because they have a better selection of colours.
I layered my image onto patterned papers and added some die cut flowers with pearl centres.
I hope you can join us this week at Cardz 4 Galz.

Cardz 4 Guyz: World Book Day
Good morning. Today's challenge theme at Cardz 4 Guyz is World Book Day. You have a choice of either using a book on your card or making a card based on a book title and telling us what book it is.
Readers from the UK may be wondering why World Book Day is this week's theme. Well, apparently World Book Day is celebrated everywhere except the UK on 23rd April. (We do like to be different). Here it's celebrated on the first Thursday in March, the reason being so that it doesn't clash with the school Easter Holidays.
I created my card using a lovely image by Bloobel Stamps called Inky Bookworm. I hope you like him! I wanted the main focus to be on the image here, so I coloured him really brightly and kept my embellishments to a minimum. I coloured my image with Polychromos Pencils.

Make My Monday: In the Garden
Good morning. Today's theme at Make My Monday is In the Garden. The flowers on my card are stamps by Paperartsy. I also used a Crafter's Companion stamp for the background script and a mini stencil by Creative expressions for the circles.
I started off by stamping the flowers then painted over them with masking fluid. I left the masking fluid to dry overnight - a first for me, I think - I HATE having to leave things to dry.
My next step was to create the background. I started off by blending distress inks then splashed it with water. I also added some Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powders. This time I didn't leave it to dry - I blasted it with a heat gun.
Next I stamped the script in Distress Ink and then added the circles using my stencil and some Distress Oxide ink. I also added some Distress Oxide around the edges.
I peeled off the masking fluid and then watercoloured the flowers with Distress Inks. I think I need a bit more practice at this technique because I don't think I managed to get enough depth on the flower petals. Maybe I'll stick with my pencils! I am however reasonably pleased with the end result.
I hope you can join us this week at Make My Monday.

Cardz 4 Guyz: Travel or Transport
Good morning. Today's theme at Cardz 4 Guyz is travel or transport. I was really happy to have this theme to work to because it gave me a chance to use a fantastic stamp which has been sitting on my desk for a while waiting for the right opportunity for me to use it.
I made my card using a stamp by Stamposaurus, which I stamped on kraft card and coloured with Polychromos pencils. I kept this one simple because I wanted the image to be the main focus, so I just layered it onto card and patterned paper and added some Card Candi dots.

Make My Monday: Things with Wings
Good morning. Today's challenge at Make My Monday is Things with Wings. I decided to make a set of two cards using this lovely bee die, which is an Intricuts die by Hobbycraft. I love these dies. The designs are beautiful and they're really good quality too.
For each card, I die cut the bee three times, from black card, yello w card and an irridescent white card.
Then I used both the positive and negative die cuts to piece together the bee. I love how it's turned bout, but this really did take a very long time, particularly when I did the wings. I wanted the bees to be the main focus of my cards, so I layered them onto card and patterned paper, just adding a few paper flowers at the corners. The patterned papers I've used on these cards are some very old Papermania papers that I must have had in my stash from not long after I started card making. I think I must have had them about 12 years! (I still don't have enough papers though). I hope you can join us this week at Make My Monday.
I would like to enter my cards in the following challenges:
Lil Patch of Crafty Friends
Crafting with Friends
Crafty Catz
Sian.
Cardz 4 Galz: Buttons and/or Bows
Good morning. Today's challenge at Cardz 4 Galz is buttons and/or bows. As you can see, I have chosen to use both on my card. I started off by die cutting some flowers in various shades of purple. I stuck them on my card and drew the stems using Promarkers.
I added button centres to the flowers and then ties a bow from chiffon ribbon which I stuck onto the bottom of the stems.
I hoe you can join us this week at Cards 4 Galz.

Cardz 4 Guyz: Superheroes
Good morning. This week's theme at Cardz 4 Guyz is Superheroes. I've used a brilliant image from Bloobel Digi Stamps called Super Dad for my card. You can find him here for just $1.
I coloured my image using Prismacolor pencils and layered him onto card and patterned papers. I embellished my card with some stars which I thought would fit the superhero theme.
I deliberately kept the colours muted on this card to fit in with my rather unconventional superhero.
I hope you can join us this week at Cardz 4 Guyz.

Bloobel Stamps: Begging Dog
Hi everyone. I hope you've had a good weekend. Today I've made a card using this brilliant image by Bloobel Stamps. He's called Begging Dog and you can find him in the Bloobel shop here. I absolutely love him and will definitely be using him again.
I coloured my image with Prismacolor pencils and layered him onto patterned papers. I didn't want to add too much embellishment on this one as I wanted to keep the focus on the dog, so I just added a happy birthday sentiment on kraft card and a hand tied ribbon bow.
I hope you like him.
I would like to enter my card in the following challenges:
Crafty Animals
Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge
Crafty Friends Challenge
Always Happy Birthday

Make My Monday: Easter Fun
Hi everyone, with Easter coming early this year and just around the corner, this week's theme at Make My Monday is Easter fun. I used this fun image from Bloobel Digi Stamps to make my card. It's called My Easter Eggs, and can be found here.
I coloured him with Polychromos pencils and layered him onto card and patterned paper. To embellish my card I used a ribbon bow, some paper flowers and some eggs cut out from one of the patterned papers in the same set as the background papers.
I hope you can join us this week at Make My Monday.

Cardz 4 Galz: Beach or Nautical
Hello again. This week's theme at Cardz 4 Galz is beach or nautical. I used a digi stamp by Make It Crafty to make my card, which I coloured with Prismacolor pencils. I drew in the beach background myself, also with the Prismacolors.
I layered my image onto patterned papers and coordinating card then added some die cut shells and some pearls.
I hope you can join us this week at Cardz 4 Galz.

Cardz 4 Guyz: Things with Tails
Good morning. Today's challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz is things with tails. It doesn't have to be an animal - you can make your project using anything at all that has a tail. I chose this tiger because I bought the stamp a while ago and have had it hanging around on my desk waiting to be used!
I created my card using this beautiful stamp by Crafty Stamps. I coloured him using Prismacolor pencils, and I have to admit that before I started I had no clue how to colour a tiger! I had to resort to Google Images for reference as to what colours went where. I'm really pleased with how he's turned out though. I layered my tiger onto orange card and patterned papers and then just added some simple wooden stars to embellish it.
I hope you can join us this week at Cardz 4 Guyz.

Make My Monday : Use some Silver or Gold
Good morning! Today's challenge at Make My Monday is to use some silver or gold on your project. I've used a lot of silver, but sadly this does not show up too well in the picture.
I decided to make a mixed media wall hanging. Unfortunately I could not get a decent photo of the whole finished thing due to the awful weather we've been having, which has meant a lack of natural light, but I hope you can at least get an idea of what it looks like.
I've posted some close ups, and some work in progress pictures at the bottom.
I started with a wooden heart, which I painted with white gesso and then a layer of white acrylic paint.
Then I added some texture using die cuts, corrugated card and some gel medium which I applied through a stencil to create the eggshell effect. Then I gave everything another coat of white paint and added some blue while it was still wet.
Once that layer of paint was dry I added some silver paint around the edges and also some turquoise gilding wax. I also added some silver sparkly embossing powder to the background, which I applied just by sprinkling and heating.
For the final part of my project I used some die cut butterflies and some paper flowers, which I painted to match the background. then I added some of the silver embossing powder to the edges. I used Versamark Ink on the edges of the flowers and the butterflies to pick up the powder and then heated it.
I stuck everything on, then added some beads to the centres of the flat flowers. Then to finish off my project I added a loop at the top with some mixed fibres and then threaded some beads onto fibres which I hung from the bottom.
I hope you can join us this week at Make My Monday.
